Preparation is a capital step in the false nail application system you have chosen to apply. Good preparation allows you to optimize the adhesion of the false nail application system and to prevent peeling, fungal and obtain clean finishes. Good preparation is done in 4 steps:
1. Nail disinfection
To begin, it is advisable to disinfect your hands as well as those of your client. Use Nail Antiseptic to kill harmful micro-organisms (bacteria, fungi, yeast). Nail Antiseptic can also be used to disinfect equipment such as pliers, files, brushes, nail drill bits, etc.
2. The manicure
Apply a emollient to your client’s nail cuticles and massage lightly. Push back the cuticles with a wooden or metal stick. Cut cuticles only if necessary with cuticle nippers. Be careful, cutting the cuticles accelerates the regeneration of the cuticles, the more you cut them, the quicker they will grow back.
3. Degreasing the nails
A natural nail is made up of a surface layer called the hydrolipidic layer which is naturally oily. To have good grip, you need to degrease it. Start by very lightly filing the surface of your client’s nails using a soft file. Then, check that all the edges of the nails are clean and free of dust. Brush the nail plate and cuticles.
4. Regulating the PH of nails
Too low or too high an acidity level leads to peeling, which is why it is very important to use a pH regulator before applying a nail system. Good adhesion of synthetic nail materials also begins with a well-balanced acidity.
